Personally ima have to go with Fire ele on this one completely maxed out suicide fire ele 16 in fire skill 12 reg 3 rune and one from helm can easily do more than enough to kill anything that moves with Fire Attunement (For 36/55/62 seconds, you are attuned to Fire. You gain 30% of the energy cost of the spell each time you use Fire Magic) Mark of Rodgort energy cost 10(For the next 8/18/22 seconds, any time target foe is struck for fire damage, that foe is set on fire for 1/3/3 seconds) Phoenix energy cost 15 (A firey phoenix rises at your location, burning nearby foes for 7/91/119 fire damage, and flies out to your target, exploding on impact for an additional 15/75/90 fire damage) and Rodgorts invocation (You invoke the power of Rodgort at target enemy's location. All enemies in that area are struck for 7/91/119 fire damage and are set on fire for 1/3/3 seconds.) followed by the great low cost finisher Flare (Flare flies toward target foe, striking for 16/40/48 fire damage if it hits) totaling roughly 500-600 damage depending on how long you can keep em burning. This would probably be your best bet for serious damage in a decently short amount of time and with 10 in energy storage that gives you more than enough energy to use all this and a few extra flares just in case hes still movin (damn monks). Or even run out to the target and hit him with Inferno energy cost 10 (All adjacent enemies are struck for 15/99/127 fire damage.)

Meteor shower and lava font are basically useless against a human player.

My E/W Earth/Hammer build seems to be pretty good at taking out softer targets - Shock to knockdown, Aftershock, Flurry, (opponent has a chance to do something now), Devastating Hammer, Aftershock, spam Stoning for repeated knockdown. If I'm starting to run below 20 mana or so, start spamming obsidian flame which usually takes them down as they try to run away.
IIRC, at 12 Earth, Aftershock does about 80+60 to poorly armoured targets, stoning does about 80, and obisidian flame does about 90.
I do very well at sneaking up and killing an unaided opponent, 1 on 1, before they know what hit 'em. Armour of Earth provides some survivability. However, against any decent team with supporting monks, etc, or teammates who attack me to support their teammate, I'm toast. So overall not a particularly powerful build But fun in the right situations.

Yes, I too love hex breaker, its earned a pretty much permanent place on my skillbar! Altho it's often near impossible to refresh it fast eough when faced with a proper hex assault - one or two will get through.
I guess what i'm trying to point out is that as others said altho the suggestions may well constitute the biggest amount of damage in a short time - it does not guarantee success due to the rock, scissor, paper nature of the classes and that any debuff class worth their salt could if they identified th threat shut it down pretty fast.

Let's not forget the wonderful Immolate. It refreshes fast, and with DoT effect and a high fire build, this one works wonders for support. I've actually given up on Flare (depletes my energy bar too fast) and replaced it with the best fire wand and flame focus I could find/buy. Mix that with Conjure Flame and you've not quite doubled your fire damage output on your weapon alone. Only real downside is that Conjure flame can be stripped and has long reload time, so I carry the marvelous Hex Breaker too.
